On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday (local time) held a meeting with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and discussed the West Asia situation and the strategic partnership.

Amid a rise in blasts and terrorism in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has said that it is important to focus the work more on Afghanistan so that it does not become a safe haven for terrorist groups, reported TOLOnews.
"His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held today a phone call with His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India," Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement which is shared by its official Twitter account.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday dialled his Saudi Arabian counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan and discussed Sudan's situation while stating that both countries will remain in "close touch".

The Chinese-brokered landmark accord between two countries that were bitter rivals for years may have a domino effect on other Middle East countries like Yemen, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, where the two countries supported opposing sides, and could play a big role in stabilizing the region.
