The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Himachal Pradesh approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday, seeking the transfer of officers in the Shimla parliamentary constituency to ensure free and fair elections.
"West Bengal police is the finest weapon of Mamata Banerjee. A section of the IPS officers functions as the party functionaries of the TMC and hence it's very difficult to have a fair election here," Adhikari said speaking to ANI on Sunday.
The Governor has also sent a list of habitual offenders received through the Log Sabha portal for appropriate preventive action to restrain them from blocking free and fair elections.
