Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat on Sunday criticised the government over the India-US interim trade agreement, calling it "highly imbalanced" and a "unilateral deal."

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said that the trade agreement with the United States will not harm Indian farmers, while the US has reduced tariffs on several Indian farm exports to zero.
"Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, this is a landmark deal between India and the US. This is a historic deal. The 50 per cent tariff has been cut down to 18 per cent. Trade will thrive, industries of people will thrive, and employment opportunities will increase," he said.
In response to an ANI question on the status of exports of electronic products and components, Piyush Goyal said, "Smartphones to the US will be exported on zero duty under the trade arrangements."
