A Naxalite camp was busted and a huge quantity of explosive materials, medicines, Maoist literature, and uniforms were recovered after an exchange of fire in the forests of Pedda Karma in Bijapur district on Saturday.
A substantial cache of arms and ammunition including explosive materials, detonators, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), fuses, and a substantial amount of cash, was recovered from the apprehended terrorists.
"During searches by the army's sniffer dog detected some suspicious IEDs and other explosive material which were later on destroyed by the Bomb Disposal squad safely," he said.
