Even after the exit-poll projections for Himachal Pradesh that have predicted a return of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, Congress is still hopeful that the party would form the government with a full majority in the hill state.
The exit polls, which came a day after the polling for MCD elections, predicted that AAP, led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, will now also rule the municipal corporation of the national capital for the first time.
The exit polls predicted that the BJP is on course to a handsome victory in Gujarat and could create a record in terms of seats won. They also predicted that AAP will open its account in the Gujarat assembly and will finish third behind the Congress and BJP.
Earlier on November 13, the Election Commission of India prohibited the conduct of any exit poll and publishing the result of exit polls from November 12 to December 5, 2022.
The state poll panel further notified that "between 0800 hrs of December 4, 2022 till 1730 hrs of December 5, 2022, as the period during which conducting of any Exit Poll and publishing or publicising by means of the print or electronic media & dissemination in any other manner whatsoeve
The poll panel issued a notification on Thursday prohibiting the publication of exit-poll projections in any print and electronic media will be prohibited from 8 am on November 12 and 5 pm on December 5.
