Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed sadness over the loss of lives due to an accident in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi. He also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
The incident occurred on Monday at around 3.50 pm in a privately owned firecracker factory located in Narayanapuram village in Sivakasi area of Virudhunagar.
This would be in addition to the ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF), announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which would be given to the next of kin of the deceased.
