A Lashkar-e-Taliba (LeT) terrorist associate was killed by the security forces during the ongoing encounter in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Friday.
"One terrorist has been neutralised in the ongoing operation. One AK 47 has been recovered in addition to the M4 rifle. Intermittent exchange of firing continues as the operations are ongoing," White Knight Corps said.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed deep concern after four soldiers including an officer, lost their lives in action during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
One terrorist has been gunned down in an encounter between terrorists and security forces on Wednesday at the Gandoh area of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir, a top police official said.
"Bodies of 02 #terrorists killed in the anti-terrorist operation recovered so far. Identity & affiliation being ascertained. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow," the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi on Friday said 5 terrorists believed to be belonging to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba have been killed in the ongoing encounter with security forces in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir Police said on Friday.
"2 terrorists killed. Bodies of the killed terrorists are being retrieved from the site of the encounter. The cordon & search operation is still in progress. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Police Zone said in a post on X.
A search operation is underway in the forest area of Kokernag in Anantnag district where an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on September 13.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Abid Wani hailing from Kulgam. The police said that incriminating materials including an AK 47 rifle were recovered from the terrorist.
