World No.3 Elena Rybakina continued her blistering run as she extended her winning streak to six matches with a 6-3, 7-5 win over lucky loser Cristina Bucsa in the Round of 16 of the Adelaide International on Wednesday.
The World No.1 Iga Swiatek and defending champion Jessica Pegula headline the entry list for the Guadalajara Open, a WTA 1000 tournament that begins on September 17.
This was Jabeur's third defeat in a Grand Slam final and second at London, a tournament she has openly wanted to win above all other majors. She had a memorable outing in London til the final, beating former champions Bianca Andreescu, Petra Kvitova, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka to mak
In the first set, Jabeur had a set chance when she served for it at 6-5 after coming back from 3-1 down, but Rybakina broke her and won three straight games in the subsequent tiebreak from 3-3 to take the set.
Sabalenka will next clash with No.22 Ekaterina Alexandrova for a place in the quarterfinals. Alexandrova advanced to her first Grand Slams Round of 16 after beating Dalma Galfi 6-0, 6-4.
Number 49-ranked Rogers is known for upsets as she had previously notched seven Top 10 wins in her career, including three Grand Slams. She had also beaten Rybakina 6-2, 6-4 in their last encounter at Hertogenbosch 2022. Rogers has two wins in five meetings against the Khazikistan player.
