The Voter Adhikaar Yatra is a campaign led by Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders to raise awareness about voter rights and protest against alleged "vote theft" and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
Tagore said that while Centre ignores having a debate on the alleged electoral fraud, or "vote chori," both the parties worked together to praise and pass the Mines and Minerals Bill and stood shoulder to shoulder with the BJP.
Singh alleged that under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, 65 lakh voters in Bihar were removed from the electoral rolls. He said many were marked dead despite being alive.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat referred to the media reports, claiming nitric acid was allegedly poured into ballot boxes under former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's tenure, which helped him sway elections in his favour.
Prasad told ANI, "... Rahul Gandhi is a person who abuses someone and then runs away... He is frustrated because he thinks that his family has a contract to run the country, so where did PM Modi come from?"
Election Commission of India (ECI) has received a total of 23,557 claims and objections over the draft voter list after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar, out of which 741 complaints have been disposed, a press note said on Thursday.
"Electoral rolls are prepared in accordance with law. Any correction, deletion or inclusion in Electoral Roll can always be made as per procedure laid down in law. No one can force to remove YOUR NAME from final Electoral Rolls without following the procedure laid down in law," ECI posted
"You mention her as a 124-year-old in voter list and don't apologise for it. We, who are bringing your misdeeds out in the light, should apologise for it? This is a Government which handcuffs the person with whom a crime occurs and makes them apologise. They hug perpetrators," Khera told ANI
Hitting back at Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for his claim of "vote theft", the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday alleged that Congress defeated Bhimrao Ambedkar, regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution, in the 1952 general election through electoral fraud.
