Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Monday questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over defending Election Commission over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, suggesting that there is "something under cover."
Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Monday moved an adjournment motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls conducted by the Election Commission of India in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections.
In his letter dated 31st July, Nagesh, who contested the 2023 Assembly elections as a Congress candidate from Mahadevapura, requested a copy of a list of documents he claims to have submitted in April 2023.
Yadav, a former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, had made allegations against the ECI over the draft electoral rolls published on Friday, first saying that his name is missing and then stating that his EPIC number has been changed.
"From 1 August 2025 (3 PM) till 3 August (3 PM), all political parties put together have filed zero claims and objections for the addition of the names of eligible electors and deletion of the names of ineligible electors," said the Commission in a press note.
Venugopal, speaking to ANI, alleged that the names of many voters have been "excluded" from the draft electoral rolls for Bihar recently released by the EC.
