The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Pakistan-based Dawn reported.
The ECP said that the applications can be submitted with the signature of the party leader until July 19. The electoral watchdog further said that the signature of the party leader on the application is a must.
Speaking in the National Assembly, the law minister said that the federal cabinet had referred the matter to the National Assembly which had the authority to approve or disapprove additional expenses under Articles 82 (2) and 84 of the Constitution, The News.com reported.
In the verdict, the ECP said that the bailable warrants shall be executed through the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad and ordered the office to take follow-up action forthwith.

In its notice, the ECP said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan did not give details regarding expenses in by-elections of six constituencies, ARY News reported.
The court said that the high courts had not restricted the ECP from taking action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan and other party members, The News International reported.
