US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (local time) met Edan Alexander, who was held hostage by Hamas for 584 days, and the family of Omer Neutra in the Oval Office.
After 584 days of Hamas captivity, Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander has returned to Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing it as an "emotional moment."
Freed Israeli hostage Edan Alexander is currently in the custody of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Khan Younis, according to an Israeli security source.
Alexander was an Israeli soldier at the time he was taken captive on October 7, 2023 and the US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said that he's arriving in Israel on Monday in hopes of bringing Alexander back to the United States, where he also holds citizenship, as per Al Jazeera.
Hamas announced today that the fate of Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander remains unknown, days after the terrorist group claimed that the guard holding him had been killed.
Hamas has accepted a new proposal put forward by Egypt to release five hostages, including American-Israeli Edan Alexander, in exchange for a renewed ceasefire, CNN reported, citing a Hamas source statement.
