Terming the raids conducted by Enforcement Directorate (ED) as politically motivated, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that BJP is scared of Congress and misusing central agencies to suppress their voice.
Following the raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate in Chhattisgarh, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Monday said Congress leaders were standing by the corrupt and the strings of corruption are connected with the Congress headquarters.
Addressing the media persons in the state capital Raipur on Monday, Sao said, "CM Baghel himself is the reason for the ED raid. The raid is being conducted on the basis of evidence found in the previous ED raid."
On another query over the Directorate of Enforcement's ongoing raids on Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh, Nirmala Sitharaman said no action is executed with a sense of revenge.
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday hit out the BJP government at the Centre over the ongoing raids at the residential and office addresses of various Congress leaders of Chattisgarh, saying it was misusing the central agency against the ruling party in the state.

As the Enforcement Directorate raided the office and residential premises of Chhattisgarh Congress leaders in a coal levy scam case, state Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday alleged that the crackdown is in connection with a forthcoming party convention in state's capital.
Several institutes/colleges "unlawfully" availed scholarships in the names of several ineligible candidates and "misappropriated" the same for their use, the ED said.
The investigation by ED revealed that acts of corruption and conspiracy in the formulation and implementation of Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 led to the loss of at least Rs 2,873 crore to the government exchequer.
