The Commission gives away awards every year in four categories -- general, special, best-performing government departments or institutions and best-performing state -- to encourage and congratulate officers who have performed in elections.
The Commission is set to hold the meeting with the District Magistrate (DM), Superintendent of Police (SP), Police Commissioner, and Divisional Commissioner of all the districts in Lucknow on January 30.

Refuting the Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh's allegations on Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), the Election Commission of India (ECI) said that the Commission has full faith in the use of EVMs in the election.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India on Tuesday seeking an appointment to meet the delegation of INDIA bloc leaders to discuss the issue of VVPAT.
The meeting witnessed the participation of prominent members of the Central Election Commission, including Senior Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma, Nitish Vyas, Deputy Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar, and Director Santosh Ajmira.
