Ahead of the farmers' march to the national capital on February 13, Tuesday, Delhi Police on Sunday imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in North-East Delhi and at the borders with neighbouring Uttar Pradesh to avoid any untoward incidents and ensure law and order.
The Karkardooma Court on Friday granted bail to a man accused of rioting and setting a shop on fire during the North-East Delhi riots, noting the contradiction in the time of the alleged incident.
According to Delhi police, "The incident took place around 10:20 pm on Thursday when the group of accused cornered the victim, Sharukh over a money issue in Gali number 9 area of Delhi's North East district."
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday called for a report from the trial court hearing Larger Conspiracy of Delhi Riots 2020 case on the number of pleas seeking the supply of documents filed and the charge sheet till date. The High Court has also asked about their status.
"Show material against the accused, and point out his role. We will consider it. If you have no case, we can grant bail. We don't want a story. Give material against him," the bench said.
A 29-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in East Delhi's Pandav Nagar, said police, adding that two people have been apprehended in connection with the incident.
