After an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 jolted China's Shandong province on Sunday, the number of people injured in the region has risen to 21, reported CNN.
A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Pingyuan County of Dezhou City in Shandong Province at 2:33 am local time on Sunday, CGTN reported citing China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
"Earthquake of Magnitude:5.8, Occurred on 05-08-2023, 21:31:48 IST, Lat: 36.38 & Long: 70.77, Depth: 181 Km, Location: Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan," the NCS tweeted.
Flooding, typhoons, geological disaster and drought were the main natural disasters in China in July. Other kinds of disasters including hailstorms, earthquakes, sand-dust storms and forest fires also occurred, according to the ministry.
He further explained that "This new Bill after it is passed by Parliament, will protect the rights of ALL citizens, allow the innovation economy to expand and permit Govt's lawful n legitimate access in national security and emergencies like pandemics and earthquakes etc."

An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on Richter scale has jolted Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported.
At least 700 people have lost their lives and hundreds have been injured due to natural disasters in past year across Afghanistan, said officials from the State Ministry for Disaster Management during their annual accountability report, reported Khaama Press.
