According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the first earthquake of magnitude 6.0 with its epicentre being the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, struck at 10:50 am, at a depth of 223 km.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.8, Occurred on 28-05-2023, 18:26:53 IST, Lat: 34.27 & Long: 70.43, Depth: 60 Km, Region: Afghanistan," the NCS said in a tweet.
According to Rahimi, the incidents took place in Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Takhar, Badakhshan, Ghor, Kandahar, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman, Paktia, Khost, Daikundi and Nangarhar.
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, jolting several parts of Pakistan on Sunday morning, Dawn reported citing the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 65 kilometres. Taking to its Twitter handle, NCS stated, "Earthquake of Magnitude:6.1, Occurred on 26-05-2023, 15:33:25 IST, Lat: 35.42 & Long: 140.80, Depth: 65 Km, Location: 107km ESE of Tokyo, Japan."
