External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Friday extended warm greetings to the Government and people of the United States on the occasion of their Independence Day.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that discussions were held on the South China Sea during the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Washington, as it is an "issue of great concern" for all the member nations.
The EAM is on a visit to the United States to attend the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting (QFMM). US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Takeshi Iwaya, and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong were also present for the meeting.
As per a statement issued by Bruce, in a bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Rubio highlighted the implementation of the US-India COMPACT.
