West Bengal Police have arrested three accused in connection with the alleged gangrape of a medical student in Durgapur, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate said on Sunday.
Deputy Magistrate and SDO Durgapur, Ranjana Roy, said after meeting the victim of the Durgapur Medical College gangrape case that she is in stable condition and her mother is with her.
According to the release, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal, demanding the immediate arrest of all accused persons, a prompt and transparent investigation, and adequate medical and psychological support for the survivor.
