After the World Health Organisation (WHO) made a recommendation against using two cough syrups made by Noida-based Marion Biotech on account of their "substandard quality", Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation on Thursday collected four samples of AMBRONOL syrup for investigation.<
In a Medical product alert, WHO said the "substandard medical products", manufactured by Marion Biotech, "are products that fail to meet quality standards or specifications and are therefore out of specification."
As per the allegations, the accused was voluntarily drunk and had consumed alcohol during the flight and the said fact has not been denied by the applicant. The alleged act in itself prima facie reflects the intention of the accused, added the Court.
