The Indian Army's surveillance capability along the border with Punjab is all set to get a boost as the force is set to deploy its Drishti-10 medium-altitude, long-endurance drones at a forward base in the Punjab sector.
"Drone attacks can happen from anywhere. We have not yet finalised where it has come from. We have been encountering these drones at sea either doing some patrolling, being in the air and doing some surveillance etc or after they have attacked some merchant ship," the Admiral said.
After unveiling the first indigenously manufactured Drishti 10 Starliner Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in Hyderabad, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar asserted the platform is expected to be a 'capability enhancer' for the force.
