Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday met DRDO scientists who were special guests at the Republic Day Parade, praising them for their role in strengthening India's strategic capabilities through the development of tanks, missiles, and rocket systems.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) showcased the developing Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LR-AShM), represented by Scientist and Project Director A Prasad Goud, on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day.
The DRDO will showcase LR-AShM with a launcher during the parade. This weapon system is designed to meet the coastal battery requirements of the Indian Navy. The LR-AShM is a Hypersonic Glide Missile capable of engaging static and moving targets and is designed to carry various payloads.
The LRAShM missiles have a range of 1,500 km and will boost India's capabilities in the Indian Ocean region. Its display at the Republic Day parade will showcase India's self-reliance in the defence sector.
