Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed deep concern after four soldiers including an officer, lost their lives in action during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
"Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh spoke to COAS General Upendra Dwivedi this morning. RM was apprised of the ground situation and the ongoing Counter Terrorist Op in Doda by the Army Chief," Office of the Defence Ministry posted on X.
Four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, have been killed in action during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, officials said on Tuesday.
According to officials, a joint operation was launched by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday evening following an exchange of fire with terrorists in Dessa area of the district.
Further, RR Swain emphasized that due to the strategy of the government, security forces and population, this dubious duplicity has been put to an end.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, RR Swain, said on Monday that even one terrorist sent to kill indiscriminately, with the purpose of increasing the level of violence, is a challenge for the security forces.
Notably, three terrorists were killed by the Indian Army during the anti-infiltration operation at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara on Sunday.
Two people were killed and four were critically injured after a bus travelling from Bhalessa to Thathri skidded off the road and plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir, said officials.
An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Sezan forest area of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Tuesday evening, even as the Army, police and CRPF launched a search operation to track down militants involved in the attack on an Army convoy on July 8.
Earlier, calling it a cowardly act, President Droupadi Murmu condemned the July 8 Kathua terror attack in which five army soldiers lost their lives and called for firm counter-measures.
