Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) president KM Kader Mohideen met DMK representatives on Sunday for seat-sharing talks ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls here and demanded that five seats be allotted to them to contest the elections under the coalition.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday said that the DMK worked hard against the move to remove voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.
The agitation is organised across the state, with leaders of the NDA alliance youth wings participating in large numbers. The protest aims to highlight concerns over the increasing drug menace and to demand stronger action from the state government.
He asserted that the DMK-led alliance would not sideline any of its partners. "Our alliance will only increase, not decrease. We will not cut off anyone. We treat all alliance partners with friendship and respect. Ours will be a government for everyone," he said.
Tamil Nadu Congress President Selvaperunthagai K on Saturday said that the party is ready to discuss a seat-sharing formula with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the upcoming 2026 Legislative Assembly elections.
The committee will be chaired by party Treasurer TR Baalu. Other members of the panel include Principal Secretary KN Nehru, Deputy General Secretaries Tiruchi Siva and A Raja, Organising Secretary RS Bharathi, and High-Level Executive Committee members EV Velu and MRK Panneerselvam.

Addressing the House, Stalin projected confidence ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, stating, "The 'Dravidian Model 2.0' government that we are going to form will surpass even our own achievements. We will win again. We will form the government again."
Highlighting the promises made by the DMK government, the BJP released the statistical "report card" resembling an exam score sheet. The report was released and criticised within the Assembly premises by BJP MLA Nainar Nagendran.
Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi on Friday reaffirmed the strength of the DMK-Congress alliance, stating that it has been a long-standing partnership with no possibility of any change.
Tamil Nadu Minister TM Anbarasan said that drug-related issues in the state were not new and had existed during the previous regime, asserting that the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government had taken effective steps to bring the situation under control.
