Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on the Mekedatu project, expressing gratitude to the legal team involved and terming it a significant development for the state.
Sharing a post on X, Shivakumar said the initiative aims to strengthen Karnataka's leadership in aerospace and defence manufacturing while creating new opportunities for skilled talent.
Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, he said, "I have seen the reports in the media. This is the prerogative of the High Command and the CM, let's wait and watch."
Speaking to reporters, he said, "There is no discussion, no question, and no one is in a hurry to do anything. The party will make whatever decision is best for the party. We are only aiming for 2028, that's all."
"I don't know about the CM's meeting with Rahul Gandhi. I don't know about a cabinet reshuffle discussion... I don't know whether I'll meet (Rahul Gandhi) on Sunday or not," DK Shivakumar said.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court refused to entertain an application of Tamil Nadu against Karnataka's plan for the construction of the Mekedatu dam on the Cauvery River.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday lashed out at the Opposition BJP, calling it a party which is opposed to the development of Karnataka.
