Following disengagement between India and China, Indian troops started patrolling the Demchok sector in eastern Ladakh earlier on Friday, according to Indian Army.
Ladakh MP Haji Hanifa on Thursday welcomed the disengagement of the Indian and Chinese Army in LAC (Line of Actual Control) in eastern Ladakh but expressed mistrust on neighbour about keeping their promise.
After Indian and Chinese Army completed disengagement in LAC (Line of Actual Control) in eastern Ladakh and exchanged sweets on the occasion of Diwali, Indian experts expressed satisfaction, stating it as a "positive step" in both countries relations.
Indian and Chinese Army troops on Thursday exchanged sweets at the Hot Springs, Karakoram Pass, Daulat Beg Oldi, KongkLa and Chushul-Moldo border meeting points in Ladakh on the occasion of Diwali.
Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong said on Wednesday that it is natural for India and China to have differences as neighbouring countries but the important thing is how to handle and solve these differences.
US State Department Spokesperson, Matthew Miller, said that Washington is closely monitoring the situation, and it also discussed with the Indian side on the matter.
According to Defence Sources, the process includes the removal of all types of infrastructure and the pulling back of troops by both sides. The process is likely to be completed by Tuesday.
