The Delhi High Court on Tuesday refused to grant any stay to the residents of Priyanka Gandhi Camp, a slum cluster, in Vasant Vihar against a demolition drive at the land allotted to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
In the background of IMD predicting the onset of monsoon around June 4 in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday directed the state officials to carry out the monsoon preparedness activities vigorously. He was chairing a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority here.
"Heavy storm was going on. It was a natural disaster. The idols are in the guarantee period of five years. Therefore, the contractor will provide them by making it once again and repair the damage caused in the incident," Mishra told reporters here.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Sunday said light to moderate spells of rain coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds are very likely to occur in Delhi in the next 24 hours.
According to Rahimi, the incidents took place in Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Takhar, Badakhshan, Ghor, Kandahar, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman, Paktia, Khost, Daikundi and Nangarhar.
A major disaster was averted after the security forces doused the fire around the school premises in Punjab's Pathankot during the early hours of Tuesday.
With most of the votes, Mitsotak's New Democracy party was 40.83 per cent of the votes, ahead of the left-wing Syriza party of Alexis Tsipras, which had 20.1 per cent.
"A devotee who had come from Noida, Uttar Pradesh for Shri Kedarnath Yatra lost his way at Garudchatti and got stuck on the other side of the river," said SDRF officials.
