Nepal and India are all set to conduct the 16th edition of Surya Kiran from Friday, the joint military training exercise between the two South Asian nations.
In view of the cyclone Mandous maintaining its intensity of 'Severe Cyclonic Storm' till the early morning hours today, the National Disaster Response Force team were kept on standby in Chennai, informed officials on Friday.
Betul Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Shyamendra Jaiswal said, "It is taking more time than what we expected because there are stones. We have reached a depth of over 40 feet so far and vertical digging remains. Medical team is present on the spot."
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has made five teams available to Tamil Nadu and three teams for Puducherry as asked for by them and teams are also being kept on standby for Andhra Pradesh to be activated as and when the State government desires.
As per the press statement from the government "The budgetary allocation includes Administrative Expenditure of Rs 4,934 crore, Programme Expenditure of Rs 9,200 crore, Disaster Response Funds Rs 2,610.46 crore and Transfers from the State of Rs 55.54 crore"
