At least 367 people have died in Himachal Pradesh in rain-related incidents this year since the onset of monsoon, the State Disaster Management Authority said on Friday.
A press note issued by KSDMA has said, "The general public should avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the day between 11 am and 3 pm. KSDMA has issued alerts after the effective heat index has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in the state."
Medical camps had been set up at 11 locations, including Drazky, Mehloo Sheikhuka, Nama Jindeka, and Ratta, with livestock counters stocked with medicines

Speaking at a meeting on Thursday evening, the Chief Minister highlighted the imperative need for robust drainage and cross-drainage systems along roads across the state. He declared that roads lacking adequate drainage solutions would not be approved for construction henceforth.
In an order issued on Monday, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority said, "Char Dham Yatra stopped temporarily on the 14th and 15th August following disruption in the movement of traffic due to landslides after heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand."
