The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Wednesday started removing water at the Dima Hasao coal mine to rescue 8 people who have been trapped since Monday.
The Indian Navy is making all possible efforts to rescue 9 people who were trapped in a coal mine at 3 Kilo, Umrangso area, since Monday and now going down to the shaft as efforts to dewater the well are also underway, informed Special DGP, Assam, Harmeet Singh.
The Indian Navy has mobilized a specialized rescue team with deep diving gear and underwater ROVs for the rescue of trapped miners in Umrangso, Assam. The team has arrived and is actively assisting in the operation in Dima Hasao district.
In Assam's Umrangso, the Indian Navy has deployed a team of specialists, including Clearance Divers, to assist in the rescue of miners trapped in a deep mining accident. The team is already on-site in the Dima Hasao district.

The Indian Army has launched a HADR mission to rescue miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Dima Hasao, Assam-Meghalaya border. Specialized teams, including diving specialists, are on-site as aerial reconnaissance assists in coordinating operations.

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway on Friday visited the site at Dibalong area in Dima Hasao district and took stock the situation on Friday after 8 coaches of Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express derailed at Diblong station on Thursday.
