The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India delegation on Tuesday met Ian Martin, Head of Disability Cricket of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in Birmingham (UK). Detailed discussions on various issues related to Disability Cricket in both the countries were held in this meeting.
The newly appointed committees and appointed officials will work on finalising a roadmap for the development of Differently Abled cricket in India. A number of Domestic and International Tournaments of the Physically Disabled Wing are also planned to be held in the second half of 2023.
For selection in the Indian team, a selection camp was organised by the Uttar Pradesh Wheelchair Cricket Association (UPWCCA) from April 29 to May 1 at Aryavrat Cricket Ground, Lucknow.
The DCCI meeting was attended by 31 members of the council from different parts of the country including representatives from Assam, Manipur and Tripura depicting the immense growth of the sport in the North-East states of the country.
