The Indian High Commission in Dhaka held a send-off for nearly 550 Bangladeshi students selected for the 2025 ICCR scholarships. High Commissioner Pranay Verma encouraged them to strengthen India-Bangladesh ties through their academic journey in India.
The four-member team came to Bangladesh on 23 July 2025, in pursuance of the assurance of support and assistance extended by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in the wake of the devastating air crash at the Milestone School and College in Dhaka on 21 July 2025.
Earlier in the day, a team of 21 doctors and nurses from Singapore, China, and India met Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna.
"The Indian Medical Team currently visiting Bangladesh continued their mission to provide medical support to Bangladesh authorities for treatment of critically injured patients in the aftermath of the plane crash of July 21 at Milestone School and College in Dhaka", said the statement posted
The team's visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to extend all possible assistance and support to Bangladesh in the wake of the plane crash in Dhaka.

India is extending urgent medical support to Bangladesh in the aftermath of the tragic air crash in Dhaka, with a team of burn-specialist doctors and nurses scheduled to visit shortly, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday.
