"Once operational, the Dhagwar Milk Processing Plant will significantly strengthen the economy of farmers in Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, Chamba, and Una districts, benefiting over 35,000 milk producers," said CM Sukhu.
The Himachal Pradesh government allocated Rs 201 crores for the Dhagwar milk processing plant in Kangra district whose construction is scheduled to begin soon, according to a press release.
This ambitious project, set to be constructed with an investment of Rs 225 crore in the first phase, aims to produce a diverse range of dairy products, including curd, lassi, butter, ghee, paneer, flavoured milk, khoya and mozzarella cheese.
"The government aims to collect milk from cattle rearers and sell milk by-products to improve the rural economy. To achieve this, the government is going to introduce the "Him-Ganga" scheme, which aims to develop a milk-based economy in the state," the press release stated.
