A special four-member Committee of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will meet with IndiGo Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers on Friday, December 12, to question the latter on the widespread cancellation of flights in the last week.
On Thursday, IndiGo said it has processed refunds for all flights cancelled during the recent operational disruption and assured that the remaining payments will reflect in customers' accounts shortly.
Taking serious note of large-scale passenger inconvenience faced by passengers due to widespread flight cancellations and delays by IndiGo Airlines in recent days, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has constituted a dedicated Oversight Team to be stationed at the airline's
India's domestic carrier SpiceJet plans to add up to 100 additional daily flights during the current winter schedule, aiming to ramp up operations and ensure adequate capacity in the aviation market amid the ongoing IndiGo disruption.
"By 7 PM, (IndiGo) will deliver 8,500 pieces of luggage to travellers. Luggage delivery has been completed at 49 out of 94 destinations," according to the airline.

"Therefore, it is directed to reduce the schedule by 5% across sectors, especially on high-demand, high-frequency flights, and to avoid single-flight operations on a sector by Indigo," the DGCA order read.
The IndiGo flight delays and cancellations continue to affect passengers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has directed senior officers to conduct on-ground inspections at major airports across the country.
