Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has entered into an agreement with the courier service firm, DTDC Express Limited, for providing logistics, packing and door-to-door speedy delivery of Prasad Boxes to the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi across the country, said the Board officials.
The incident took place when devotees tried to gain entry into Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's temple in Alandi, during a ceremonial procession on Sunday morning.
While speaking to ANI, Jitendra Singh said, "The Amarnath Yatra will be underway for 62 days. This shows that the government is confident enough to conduct the Yatra for such a long duration. A huge number of devotees are going to come for Yatra this year."
Offline registration for Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been banned till June 10 and online registration till June 15. Devotees who have already registered can visit the Dham.
The 3-day historic Sudhmahadev mela in tehsil Chenani commenced on Saturday amid traditional fervour and gaiety. Thousands of devotees from within and outside the UT visited the holy Sudhmahadev temple on the first day of the mela to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Eight devotees lost their lives and 26 others were injured after a tractor trolley, while returning from Mansa Mata Temple, fell into a 100 feet gorge in Jhunjhunu, said a police official.
"Till Friday, 2922 VIP devotees reached Kedarnath Dham for darshan, from which an income of Rs 8,76,600 was generated. Similarly, 5319 VIP pilgrims have so far travelled to Badrinath Dham, from which an income of Rs 15,95,700 was generated," BKTC President Ajendra Ajay.
