The Opposition in Kerala United Democratic Front on Friday sought a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged irregularities in the gold plating of Sabarimala temple. The UDF convener Adoor Prakash said that the Ayyappa devotees have the right to know the culprits.
"The pedestal was recovered from the residence of Unnikrishnan Potty, who himself raised the complaint, which reveals who the culprit is. More facts will emerge as the investigation progresses," the minister said.
On September 18, The Kerala High Court ordered a probe into discrepancies in the Sabarimala temple's gold plating project after finding that plates sent for work in 2019 returned with four kg less gold than in the records.
