As Varanasi illuminated in grand celebration of 'Dev Deepawali' on Monday, several envoys and delegates were left spellbound by the experience, as many called it an "incredible" experience.

Millions of lamps illuminate Varanasi's ghat's as devotees throng the holy city for Dev Deepavali celebrations, which is also known as 'the Diwali of the Gods' or 'festival of lights of the Gods,' on Monday."

The riverfront ghats of the Ganges River, from Ravidas Ghat to Rajghat, will be illuminated with over a million earthen lamps (diyas) to honour the river Ganga and its presiding goddess.
"Tourists will be able to enjoy a show of firecrackers, lasers and music under the moonlit sky. A show of green fireworks will also cover the sky while tunes and hymns of Shiva play in the background," said the release.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it a point to celebrate the country's cultural diversity and festivals by participating in them and Friday is no exception, as he will be in Guwahati to witness the historic Bihu celebrations.
