In the wake of three Bangladeshi women held residing illegally in the Mahendra Park area of Delhi, DCP North West Delhi Bhisham Singh said that 21 illegal Bangladeshis were deported, while overall, 5 Bangladeshis had been arrested.
"I am happy to tell you that in last six months, Southern range, covering south and southeast districts, have arrested and deported about 125 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and around 100 illegal immigrants of other countries have also been deported," SK Jain said.
The Dwarka District Police have apprehended and sent 15 foreign nationals for deportation during the month of April 2025 in a continued crackdown on illegal immigration.
Among the deported are many of those who came to India decades ago, often through cross-border marriages. Their sudden departure has left families distraught, and they are appealing to the government for reconsideration.
