The river water level had been hovering around the danger mark of 205.33 metres for the last few days after reaching an all-time high of 208.66 metres on July 13.
The weather department on Sunday issued an orange alert for Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kasarkode while a yellow alert for Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Thrissur and Malappuram.
"From Chhijarsi to Ecotech, water entered the houses in three low-lying areas. Poeple were evacuated from the houses. However, the river has not crossed the danger mark anywhere yet", said Suresh Rao A. Kulkarni, Additional Police Commissioner.
Giving a brief about the situation, Revenue Minister Atishi said in a statement "According to the latest update from the Central Water Commission, there is a possibility that the Yamuna river may cross the danger level by tomorrow evening."
As the water level of Yamuna river in Delhi breached danger lever mark of 205.33 meters, the flood-affected people on Saturday took shelter in relief camps, across the capital.
Talking to reporters during her visit to the water-logged area at Raj Ghat, Atishi said, "Everyone is working towards the pumping out of flood water from this area. Pumping sets are being used to pump out the water."
