However, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inspected the waterlogging situation at Delhi's ITO area. She emphasised that clear instructions have been given to officials to ensure proper arrangements.
Earlier today, heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms affected several regions of Delhi, providing a respite from the prevailing humid weather conditions.
"Gusty wind and rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi this morning. Please check your flight status... before heading to the airport and allow extra time for your journey," Air India posted on X.
Areas including Chirag Delhi, Teen Murti Marg and Safdarjung Road witnessed showers; meanwhile, heavy waterlogging occurred at the Badarpur border between Delhi and Faridabad.
Traffic also came to a standstill in many parts of the national capital following the heavy rainfall. A traffic jam was witnessed at Rajiv Chowk as vehicular movement slowed down, following heavy rainfall.
The showers brought down temperatures and offered relief from the persistent humidity of the past few days. Commuters welcomed the cool breeze and drop in temperature.
Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj and other leaders took to X, shared images of waterlogged streets and slammed the BJP for its repeated failure to tackle flooding, even with all four 'engines' in power.
Waterlogging was witnessed in several parts of Delhi. Traffic also came to a standstill in many parts of the national capital following the heavy rainfall.
