The overall air quality in the national capital remained in the 'moderate' category for the second consecutive day on Thursday morning, with an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 173, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
A layer of smog covered the national capital Delhi this morning. The AQI was 235 at Gurugram, 300 at Noida and 266 at IIT Delhi, all in the poor category.
The air quality in Delhi witnessed improvement on Sunday morning as the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital stood at 320, as per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) at 8:00 am.
In the National Capital Region (NCR) Noida recorded an AQI of 353, in the 'very poor' category, while Gurugram recorded an AQI of 346 and continued to remain in the 'very poor category'.
With the Air Quality Index improved in relative terms, the Delhi government on Monday lifted various bans, imposed earlier, including the ban on the entry of trucks into the national capital.
After three straight days this week of air quality recorded under the 'severe' category in Delhi, the bad air in the national capital in Delhi recovered a bit to 'upper end of Very Poor' on Sunday, said forecast system SAFAR.
