According to the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), Yesterday, Delhi's peak power demand was 5029 MW. On their part, BSES discom's successfully met the peak power demand in their respective areas.
The power demand can be attributed to weather conditions that led residents to use more air conditioning / coolers, leading to an increase in electricity consumption.
In December of 2021, Delhi's peak power demand had clocked 4723 MW and in 2020, 4671 MW. However, in the areas catered to by BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited) and BYPL(BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), the peak power demand clocked 2074 MW and 967 MW respectively.

New Delhi [India], November 29 (ANI): Delhi's peak power demand this winter can go upto 5,400 MW, surpassing the peak winter demand of both 2019 and 2020. Last year, it had peaked at 5,021 MW and 5,343 in 2019.
