The Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of the media reports wherein it is stated that the woman was allegedly attacked with an iron rod by a man near Aurobindo College, Malviya Nagar. This resulted in the death of the woman on the spot itself.
The police said that during questioning, the accused said that the deceased had borrowed some money from them and was not returning it. Following this, the accused called him for a meeting and beat him up to death after a verbal spat, the police said.
The police informed that the preliminary enquiry has revealed that the deceased was friendly with a girl for the past 2 years and the girl’s family was opposed to their relationship.

While talking to ANI, the Father of the deceased girl said, "I came to know at 8:30 in the evening that my daughter has been killed, a girl who came to our house told me that your daughter has been killed. At first, I thought that maybe there was a fight between them, so she was saying this
