Ahead of Delhi Assembly polls, several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and members joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of state president Virendraa Sachdeva on Sunday.
The event will be launched with the slogan "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" (My Booth is the Strongest). Voting in Delhi will take place on February 5, and before that, PM Modi will address the Mera Booth Sabse Majboot program.
A three-way contest is on the cards in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress. Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat.
A day earlier, AAP accused the BJP "goons" of attacking its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. BJP candidate Parvesh Verma alleged that the former Chief Minister's vehicle "ran over" one of their party worker.
Satyendar Jain, AAP candidate from Shakur Basti assembly seat, on Sunday slammed the BJP, accusing them of carrying out attacks fearing defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly election.
A total of 719 candidates will contest elections on the 70 seats of the Delhi Assembly for the upcoming polls scheduled to be held on February 5, according to the Election Commission of India.

Congress candidate from New Delhi Assembly, Sandeep Dikshit accused AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal of degrading the level of politics and making it "dirty" by using inappropriate language against then Delhi Chief Minister and Congress veteran Sheila Dikshit.
The alliance partners in the INDIA bloc, including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, have been contesting the upcoming assembly polls in Delhi separately while attacking each other over many issues along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
A total of 1,040 nominations have been accepted during scrutiny of the nominations filed by several candidates for the assembly elections for the 70 seats of the Delhi Assembly, said the Office of Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi.
