Speaking to ANI, Puri stated, "They (AAP) tried to fool the people of Delhi for 10 years and did not even give the people what they could have given. AAP will disintegrate in its current form because the control is with Kejriwal. You ask Atishi, how much freedom to make decisions she has."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his gratitude to the people of Delhi for delivering a decisive mandate in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Delhi Assembly.
"I thank the people of RK Puram, party workers and PM Modi in whose name we fought the election. I have won with a margin of 14,500 votes after the final round of counting," Sharma told ANI.
In Malviya Nagar, BJP's Satish Upadhyay won by 2,131 votes against AAP's Somnath Bharti. Upadhyay has secured 39,564 votes, while Bharti has received 37,433 votes, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI)
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi won from the Kalkaji assembly seat, defeating BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri. She thanked the voters for reposing faith in her but said, "it's not a time to celebrate but continue the war against the BJP" which is poised to form the next government in the national capital.
"It was very obvious from all the meetings that people wanted change. They voted for change. My congratulations to those who won. For the rest of us it just means that we have to work harder, stay on the ground and be responsive to the peoples' issues," said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
After trends projected BJP's win in the Delhi assembly elections, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday stated that Delhi's residents have spoken with their votes against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal's unkept promises and corruption.
Sirsa also represented the constituency in the 2017 Delhi by-elections. However, in the 2020 Delhi Assembly polls, Manjinder Sirsa lost Rajouri Garden seat to AAP's same candidate, Chandela.
Maliwal's remarks are a veiled reference to the assault case, wherein she alleged AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's personal aide, Bibhav Kumar of 'assaulting' her at the then CM's residence.
After BJP candidate Parvesh Verma is leading in the New Delhi assembly constituency after 12 out of 13 rounds of counting, surpassing AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Verma's family expressed their joy, with his wife, Swati Singh Verma, saying that the victory shows the trust people
"This is a historic victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP and the NDA. This is a comeback after 27 years and the fact that there is such an astounding lead shows that good governance is all that the voter wants," Shaina NC said.
Haryana Minister Anil Vij has said that after the defeat of AAP in Delhi Assembly polls, the "politics of lies, fraud and freebies" has ended in the national capital. He also thanked "Delhi's smart people" for making Congress "zero."
