Ahead of upcoming general elections in Pakistan, a third resolution seeking a delay in the February 8 polls landed in the Senate on Sunday, citing the weather and the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by Dawn.
With the general elections just around a month away, the Pakistan Senate passed a resolution on Friday seeking to delay the polls due to 'security concerns', Dawn reported.
Amir Muqam on Saturday suggested that the upcoming general elections should be delayed by two to four weeks due to the prevalent security threat and the weather conditions in the tribal belt.
Over the petition filed by Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the delay in the Punjab polls, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo and former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have called for a full court to be formed, Geo News reported.
