Pakistan is trying to revive terrorism in the Rajouri-Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir as around 25-30 Pakistani terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the forest areas of the region, defence sources said on Friday.
The Letter of Request has been delivered to the French government and they are expected to decide on the Indian request and respond in the near future, top defence sources told ANI.
Top defence sources told ANI that the Indian side was represented at these locations by Trishul Division Commander Major General PK Mishra and Uniform Force Commander Major General Hariharan.
The proposal for developing a three-layered Long Range Surface to Air Missile system is at an advanced stage in the Defence Ministry and is expected to be taken up for clearance soon, defence sources told ANI.
"The deal for the Predator drones was given approval by the Defence Acquisition Council meeting today. The acquisition proposal will now have to follow a procedure after which it will have to be cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security," defence sources told ANI here.
The acquisition of these drones is scheduled to come up for discussion during an important high-level meeting of the defence ministry on Thursday, defence sources told ANI here.
