"Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to provide Rs 5 lakh to the dependents of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured without any delay," an official statement said.
"Manzoor and his family were opposed to the relationship. The father of the girl had spoken with the deceased a week ago and warned him to not pursue his daughter," said, Joy Tirkey, DCP (northeast).
The police informed that the preliminary enquiry has revealed that the deceased was friendly with a girl for the past 2 years and the girl’s family was opposed to their relationship.
The incident happened on Saturday night, and a preliminary investigation suggested that the man had been in a love affair with the deceased girl, the police added.
Family members of the deceased claimed Vaibhav Sharma, a resident of Anantpura Talab, died on Wednesday night when an oxygen mask over his face allegedly caught fire after Direct Current (DC) Cardioversion shock treatment.
Bhati Gate Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Sajjad confirmed the death toll to Dawn. Lahore DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi said the deceased belonged to the same family.
The deceased were identified as Vinu Kumar, the CEO, and Panindra Subramanya, the MD, both of Aeronic Media Private Limited, died on the way to the hospital, the police said.
“Two people were shot within 300 meters. Both the deceased knew each other...We got the information at around 2.30 am today,” Joy Tirkey, DCP North East Delhi said.
During the inquiry, police said it learned that the deceased was mixing masala in the mixer grinder on the second floor when he apparently suffered an electric shock.
