According to the police, the deceased was identified as Parth Rawat, a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, who was enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) programme, studying in the first year.
"The deceased was a 20-year-old youth. The deceased's father works in the Special Protection Unit of Mumbai Police. He committed suicide by shooting himself," said Mumbai Police.
The two deceased include a 2-year-old boy of Moroccan origin and a 41-year-old German man. Three others, including a 72-year-old German man, a 59-year-old German woman, and a 2-year-old Syrian girl, were also injured, police confirmed in a statement Wednesday.
