India continued to report over 3,000 COVID cases for the second day in a row with 3,095 new infections in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday. The country recorded the highest one-day fresh infections in the last nearly six months.
"There is no need to worry right now but we are taking the necessary steps on time. Till now three deaths have been confirmed, two deaths on Wednesday and one death before that," the CM said adding that these deaths could probably be due to comorbidities and COVID-19 incidentals.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his grief over the loss of lives due to drowning in the Ganga river in Mekra of Mokama police station area of Patna.
Amid rising Covid-19 cases in the country, Maharashtra reported 450 new cases of the infection and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).
